After two months of application collection and three rounds of rigorous review, 5 key projects and 18 general projects were finally approved, making a total of 23 funded research projects.
Applications for the 2024 annual projects opened on February 1, 2024 and closed on April 30. The Creative Research Center received 67 project proposals, an increase of nearly 29% from 52 proposals in 2023. The 67 proposals were submitted by 42 project leaders and 81 project team members across six regions.
The 5 key projects focus respectively on the digital archival construction of traditional arts and crafts in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the application potential and ethical boundaries of artificial intelligence technology in art education assessment, the cross-border communication and localization transformation of East Asian martial arts culture, urban public space design from the perspective of sports aesthetics, and audience experience and industry model transformation for online art performances in the post-pandemic era.
The 18 general projects cover detailed topics across the five major research directions of the year, including music education, visual arts, digitalization of calligraphy education, short-video communication of intangible cultural heritage, contemporary ink art in China and Japan, and aesthetic systems in street dance.
The Creative Research Center will provide full-process academic management and service support for all approved projects. This year, a project mentor system has been introduced for the first time. Some senior advisors and researchers from the Expert Advisory Committee will serve as project mentors and provide academic guidance.
