On June 20, 2025, the BCAAS Creative Research Center under Boya (HongKong) Culture, Athletics & Arts Society held the first outcomes release event for the "Culture-Athletics Integration" special research program. Since the program was officially launched in March 2025, the first three key funded projects have completed their interim research work after three months of concentrated study and have released phased research reports.
The first three key research outcomes focused respectively on the aesthetics of sports, interdisciplinary integration in physical education, and the aesthetic attributes of competitive performance.
The first project, "A Study on the Aesthetic Value System of Traditional East Asian Sports," proposed an analytical framework containing three levels: physical beauty, artistic conception, and philosophical beauty.
The interim report of the second project, "An Empirical Study on the Integrated Teaching Model of Dance and Sports," showed that students in the experimental group improved significantly compared with the control group in both physical coordination and aesthetic expression.
The third project, "A Comparative Cultural Study of the Artistic Scoring System in Figure Skating," revealed how significant differences in Eastern and Western cultural traditions' understanding of "artistry" influence scoring practice.
Two academic salons were also held during the outcomes release event, focusing on "The Contemporary Value of Sports Aesthetics" and "International Experience in Culture-Athletics Integrated Education."
In the second half of 2025, the three key projects will enter the stage of further research and are expected to complete their final reports in the first half of 2026. The Creative Research Center will open applications for the second batch of research projects in autumn 2025.
